1. Bolívar Resto Lounge

For some excellent South American cuisine, you should drop by Bolívar Resto Lounge to try out some of the best mouthwatering dishes they have to offer. Looking for something mild but delicious and refreshing? Their signature drink called the Columbiana is your best bet. Half of it is made of high quality beer and the other half is a traditional Columbia soda. If you’re craving for something spicy, order the Scallop Ceviche which is served with a side of spicy sauce and an empanada made of potatoes. Be prepared though because when I say the sauce is hot, it is really hot. Though the empanada is still pretty tasty on its own, with or without the sauce. If you want to try a little bit of everything, “tapas de Bolivar” would be an excellent choice. For $29, you get to have 7 different items and their servings are huge. Craving for some meat? The Churrasco is a must to order: skirt steak with a smoked flavor, tender fries, and a side salad served with vinaigrette. With its South American decor, intimate and cozy atmosphere, and superb dishes, there’s no reason to not love Bolívar Resto Lounge.

Located in The Square Shopping Center is Costa Med, one of the hidden gems of the city. Their crab cakes are absolutely divine. It’s made of premium claw meat and is fat and delicious. Seasoned with onions, peppers, mayo, breadcrumbs and pan seared to perfection makes it soft, juicy, and crispy. It’s topped off with balsamic sauce to give it an added kick. Heavenly and perfect to share with friends and family. The Mushroom Risotto with a Broiled Lobster Tail is exquisite. Perfectly cooked rice and rich, flavorful mushrooms make this an excellent dish to try out. The Fillet Mignon is spectacular and goes great with some red wine. The Chilean Sea Bass offer a rich, near buttery taste, and soft, moist, meat. For dessert, don’t forget to try out the Quesillo. You won’t regret it.

3. Tutto Pizza and Pasta

Head over to Tutto Pizza and Pasta for some of the best pastas and pizzas in the city. The Linguini Alla Vongole made with Tuscan olive oil, fresh clams, chopped parsley, garlic, and Sauvignon Blanc is scrumptious and full of flavor in each bite. The Tagliatelle pasta is terrific. The truffle pecorino cheese and black truffle cream sauce balance each other creating a wonderful flavor. The Margherita and Four Cheese pizzas are marvelous. Do you want to try something more unique? They have a Nutella pizza. I’m not joking. It’s a pizza dough with Nutella and vanilla ice cream. I don’t know how they did it but it works and it’s one of the yummiest pizzas/desserts ever. Everything here is homemade. Pizza, pasta, sauce, and even the vinegar. In fact, the vinegar is so good that they sell it in bottles. Fresh food, great service, and reasonable prices, Tutto Pizza and Pasta is a must to go to.

4. Poseidon Greek Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge

Source: http://www.ledishmagazine.com/index.php/ct-menu-item-3/333-poseidon-greek-restaurant-outdoor-lounge-in-south-beach

Wouldn’t it be nice to visit Greece one day? Imagine yourself on the ocean coast line, soaking up some sun and feeling the sand underneath your feet, enjoying some hummus or drinking a glass of fine Greek wine. But then you wake up and realise that you’re not there but never fear because you can still have the next best thing. Poseidon Greek Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge has some of the most authentic Greek dishes in the city. For starters, the Hummus Platter is out of this world and a total mush have. There are several types of hummus and plenty of slices of pita bread to try them all. Craving for something healthier? The Greek salad is huge and amazing. It comes with lots of feta cheese, cucumbers, red onions, fresh tomatoes, and olives. The Whole Grilled Sea Bass is filleted and deboned for your convenience. It’s also mighty tasty. The Bronzino is excellent. It’s served on a bed of vegetables, moist, tender, and topped off with lemon caper sauce. While dining here, it’s almost like you’re enjoying your meal along Santorini.

5. Ayesha Indian Restaurant

It’s pretty hard to find good Indian restaurants in Key Biscayne but Ayesha Indian Restaurant hits the spot with their flavorful spices and authentic dishes. The Naan is so good that you can practically feel it melting in your mouth. The Classic Chicken Tikka Masala is perfect and not too salty. The Palak Paneer is fresh and not overwhelmingly cheesy, just right. The Lemon Garlic Rice is so good, you can eat it on its own. The Lamb Biryani is wonderful. It may be a bit strange that they put the plain rice over the biryani but the meat is tender and perfectly cooked. The Butter Chicken is extraordinary. It’s a small entree and enough to keep you satisfied but if you’re really hungry, I suggest ordering an appetizer. It may be a bit expensive though with each dish running at $20 but since it’s hard to find good Indian restaurants in the city, the quality and taste of food are more than worth it. Their chutneys, garnishes, and sauces are all made from scratch and you can tell from the moment you taste it. It’s a fairly small restaurant so it’s best to make a reservation ahead of time.

6. Cioppino

Source: https://assaultnpepper.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/meat.jpg

You can’t go to Cioppino without trying their Cioppino. Since they named the restaurant after this dish, then there must be huge expectations overt it. Needless to say, it does not disappoint. It has two olive tapenades, shrimp, olive oil, and some charred bread that goes great with the broth. You can pair this up with some wine and if you can’t choose, feel free to ask your waiter for a sample. This deserves 5 stars both for the taste and generous serving. If you’re really hungry, then you won’t want to miss out on their buffet. Most buffets tend to serve lower quality food because of mass production but not at Cioppino. They have many juices and all of them are freshly squeezed and the meats are cured perfectly. My personal favorite is the smoked salmon and they even have an omelette station if you want to customize your own omelet. Dining outside will give you an excellent view of the pool and ocean. You can even walk around the area to burn all those extra calories.

7. Oasis Cafe

Great coffee doesn’t always have to be expensive. Oasis Cafe is indeed an oasis for awesome Cuban food and coffee. For only $3, you get to try some of the best Cuban coffee in the city. Not into coffee? They also have orange juice and Guarapo (sugarcane juice) which are made fresh daily. These drinks make a great pick-me-up after a long, hard day. There are also different coladas to refresh and wake you up. They have many delectable empanadas and croquettes. The ham n cheese croissant is delicious. The Traditional Cuban Sandwich is scrumptious and it’s also served with plantains on the side. Be warned though that there aren’t many places to sit here, it’s mostly just the counter where you can stand and eat. Key Biscayne has many beautiful places so you can grab some take out and head over to the park or beach to relax and enjoy your food.

The Lomo Steak is savory beyond belief. It’s cooked to perfection and topped with a Malbec glaze and on the side are sweet and creamy mashed potatoes. The Ceviche is so good that you can eat it on its own as a meal. You also must order the Churassco with chimichurri. The taste is exquisite and the chimichurri isn’t half bad either. The empanadas are truly outstanding and they have it in beef, chicken, and sausage. Do you want to have a bit of everything? The Picada Criolla is platter filled with different meats for you to taste. Other food you must try are the Crab Raviolli, Blood Sausage, Grilled Skirt Steak, and Special Carpaccio. Each dish is bursting with Argentine flavor and spices that you’ll want to savor each and every bite. Don’t forget to save room for dessert. They have plenty of crepes to satisfy your sweet tooth.
