Philadelphia has figured out a way to cut back on graffiti; in doing so the city has created the largest outdoor art gallery. The City of Brotherly Love has allowed young artists and graffiti artists to expand their creativity into beautiful public works of art. Founded in 1984 and originally called the Anti-Graffiti Network in response to the nearly overwhelming graffiti tagging around the city, the Mural Arts Program has flourished for over 30 years.
While Philadelphia originally started the Mural Arts Program it has since become its own entity with the drive and focus of Jane Golden. Jane has been with the Program from the beginning and has taught the creative minds in Philadelphia how to channel their creativity into community art.
