The mysteries of the afterlife have long been a point of fascination for the living. Rumors of roaming spirits have circulated in San Antonio for generations. Locations speculated to be haunted have been reviewed by professional paranormal investigators nationwide, but you might want to witness the horror yourself. We've selected a few frightening locales for you; some might only be facile renditions of haunted houses, but they'll still give you a memorable scare.
San Antonio Ghost Tours
Accompany an experienced paranormal tour guide on one of San Antonio's unforgettable ghost tours. Visit allegedly haunted locations such as the Alamo and revel in the cruel history that brought these specters to life. You'll be astounded by the brutal and mysterious past of San Antonio as you wander through the bewitched corridors of the San Antonio jail and the Menger Hotel.
The city offers several ghost tours run by private paranormal investigators and companies. The Sisters Grimm offers a 90-minute stroll through San Antonio's most frightening locations for a measly $15. They also provide an extensive tour of the Menger Hotel with a delightful dinner. Enjoy a sumptuous steak while listening raptly to tales of the Menger Hotel's tumultuous and twisted past. The hotel was established in 1859 as a colonial boarding house in the Alamo Plaza. Since then, it has witnessed the aftermath of the gruesome battle of the Alamo and several brutal murders of hotel staff and visitors. It has earned the reputation of "most haunted hotel" in Texas. The comprehensive ghost tour of the Menger Hotel, ghost walk, and dinner at the Colonial Room Restaurant is $65.

You wouldn't expect an unassuming museum to harbor a host of paranormal dwellers. Truthfully, during the day, the museum is as tame and innocent as you'd expect. However, late in the evening, if you can manage to find your way into the attic of the Witte Museum, expect a sudden scare from a ghostly being emerging from the shadows.
The Witte Museum charges $10 for adult admission. Opening hours are from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Tuesdays. On every other day of the week, they close at 5:00pm. On Sundays, the opening time is noon.
