The San Francisco Dungeon

Whether you are a local or a tourist in San Francisco this Dungeon will be for you. If you are interested in great acting, scary stories, and interacting with actors this is the place to go. The environment is more like a haunted house once you enter The San Francisco Dungeon. Here is a great mix of history and horror during the thrilling ride. Enjoy a night out here in a group of people you trust so you know they will have your back just in case something does go wrong. (Don't worry you will come out alive)

The San Francisco Dungeon opened in June of 2014 and being the only dungeon like this to be in the United States. It offers a wide variety of of live action, special effects and 360° degree acting sets for real storytelling from San Francisco's history. Come discover 200 years of history being reborn with 9 different live acting shows.

Here are the stories you will learn about once you start your journey and begin the tour of The San Francisco Dungeon also brief description about each play so you know what you will be getting into.

THE DECENT-
Learning about an old mine shaft and meeting Colonel Jack Gamble. Don't worry about the elevator ride, is is completely safe and a regular maintenance occurs every 50 years ;). Being a perfect start to your experience at The San Francisco Dungeon. Who is the most scared? Be careful Jack likes to pick on the one who are mostly frightened.

GOLD RUSH GREED-
During 1848 all over America there was corruption and violence. You will learn about how gold prospecting changed the wild west, how Manifest Destiny changed the San Francisco area forever and what happened to the gold snatching suspects. Careful you may be one of them.

LOST MINES OF SUTTER'S MILL-
As the gold rush sparked in 1849 in the Sierra Foothills of San Francisco the first known mine to have found gold was here at the Sutter's Mill. You will explore a maze of the mine and find out if you have a good sense of direction or not. Hopefully you wont get lost. To make it more challenging you will notice mirrors to help confuse you of which way you have turned.

GANGS OF SAN FRANCISCO-
The gang called The Hounds rule this area. Meet the leader Sam Roberts who shows no mercy to potential traitors. The gang claims to "know nothing" but on the other hand don't let them fool you. You will learn they know a lot more than they claim. Sam's favorite way to get anything he wants and tricks of the trade. Beware of being tricked!!

THE COURT ROOM OF SAN FRANCISCO-
Here you will meet the former mayor and judge of San Francisco who shows no mercy. You will learn what it feels like to approach the bench, what crimes the judge despises most and learn the punishment you may face in this thrilling court. You have the chance to either be guilty or "very guilty" there is no innocence here.

MISS PIGGOTT'S SALOON-
By now you may be getting thirsty so this next stop may just be for you. Once you get here to Miss Piggot's Saloon you can sit down and have a drink, relax for a few minutes before the journey continues. Or not, what is that weird sound coming from under the floor boards? Learn about the business conducted here by Mr. Kelly and Miss Piggott. Why are they asking how good you can swim? You will find out soon!

SHANGHAI KELLY'S BOAT RIDE-
UH OH!! Miss Piggott tricked you and sold you to her husband. What are you going to do? Now you are being taken out to sea by a boat and Kelly wants to sell you to one of his ships as a crew member. You will either be worthy to become one of the crew members, a cabin boy, or a powder monkey. What is a powder monkey? Well it sounds kinda funny so lets hope you qualify for that one, right? But wait, Oh my what is that foul smell? It is horrible.

CHINATOWN PLAGUE-
Back in the 1900's their was a nasty infection that completely destroyed San Francisco's Chinatown called the Black Death. You will meet the Rat Catcher here but be careful you may show signs of the plague and need immediate "treatment". Don't get too scared. Legally they can't hurt you :)

THE GHOSTS OF ALCATRAZ-
Alcatraz served as a military prison back in the 1800's. This was a brick jailhouse that was impossible to escape. Don't be spooked when you hear the "clink". It is really intimidating, don't you think?

As for the brief description under each scene their is a lot more to discover and enjoy at The San Francisco Dungeon. They only way you can find out is to get scared yourself and enjoy the #1 haunted house that is open all year round. So many people love Halloween, here you can experience real stories from the past. Also please note that while you may need to use the restroom while the journey will continue. Please go with a friend so you are not scared out of your wits or possibly have an unwanted accident. (That would be a little embarrassing)

7D Experience

7D Experience is a unique and amazing place to discover. It's great entertainment for kids and adults, where you can go shoot laser guns at a big screen T.V. in a theatrical environment. When getting to 7D Experience you will be strapped in neon yellow seats that move. A pair of 3D glasses are provided as well as a laser gun. 7D Experience has a 20 seat theater with 3D visual effects and a surround sound system to make it even more realistic during the ride or game. Get into action by shooting robotic cowboys, zombies and it also puts players in a southwestern landscape while you defeat waves of undead in a digital apocalypse. Every game lasts for about eight minutes. At the end of each game the screen will display a picture of the winner with the highest score for everyone to admire and tell you if the winner looks good in a mustache or not. :)

The fun doesn't stop there though. Try out the laser maze challenge. Like a mirror maze you will have to try and get through the laser lines without tripping one of them. You will also be on a screen for other people to watch and cheer you on. 7D Experience is open from 10am to 10pm 7days a week. Exploratorium

Do you like science and learning about how things work? This is the place to go out on a Thursday San Francisco night. Even though the museum closes at 5pm, the Exploratorium still has several different events to watch or participate in. Every Thursday evening from 6pm to 10pm the Exploratorium has galleries to view, and bars are open with a few other exhibits. Below you can find out about the best attractions at the Exploratorium.

The Kanbar Forum is a 3600 Sq Ft venue. Here you can experience one of the most advanced acoustic systems in the world. The Kanbar Forum is used to play live music, lectures, training sessions and screen plays. You can also rent The Kanbar Forum for events. Every week the events and shows in the Forum change so check back for updates regularly.

The Tactile Dome is one of several fun places to explore at the Eploratorium. Going through total darkness and having to use your sense of touch to go through a maze that requires you to crawl, climb, and slide. Originally created in 1971 by the father of Nicolas Cage (August Coppola). The Tactile Dome was rebuilt for the Exploratorium at Pier 15. Reservations are mandatory if you want to participate.

Enjoy learning about your sense of touch, smell, and hearing in a personal experience by going through the Dome. It takes approximately one hour for each person to complete, but you might be permitted a second turn if time allows. The Tactile Dome admission is $12 for members of the Exploratorium and $15 for non members.

Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze

Located in San Francisco on Pier 39 Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze is fun and relaxing for the whole family. Once you get to the cashier you will receive a pair of plastic gloves to keep the mirrors inside clean and free of smudges. The maze is a full 2,000 Sq Ft of twists and turns trying to find your way out. Come enjoy a throwback to another era with your family and friends.

At night or even during the day the Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze is beautiful yet deceptive and very challenging. You will have a blast looking in the mirrors and wondering if the person is an actual person or just a reflection of someone.

The Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze is super clean inside to make it more difficult so you can't see the smudges of other peoples fingers that touched the glass. It is $5 per person to enter into this magnificent maze but you can go through as much as you would like. Also at the cashier you can enjoy the music of your own choice to make the wonderful experience even more fun.
