The Mandarin Oriental New York is one of the finest hotels in the city. If you want to stay close to Central Park and enjoy a very luxurious hotel, the Mandarin Oriental should be on your wish list. If you want Five Star luxury, this is the place to be!

The views from the Mandarin Oriental are stunning. Amazingly, all 244 guestrooms and suites have views of spectacular NYC. The Hudson River View Rooms are 400 square feet and start at $695 per night. They have either a king bed or two twins and have floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the view.

The Central Park rooms are very much the same, but, of course, have the premier view. This upgraded outlook puts the room rate up to $845 per night (and up). The Premier Central Park View rooms start at $895 per night.

All rooms have luxury goose down bedding, bathrobes, high-end bathroom amenities, interactive entertainment systems, and where would we be without a television in the bathroom?

If you want absolute luxury, you should choose one of the Mandarin Oriental Suites. River View Suites give guests 800 square feet of space with a king-sized bed and a separate living room. You can spread out in this space, and it would be a lot of fun to relax in the large bathtub while taking in the picture postcard view.

The Central Park Suite has 800 square feet of space, and a view of one of the most iconic spaces in New York. There is even a huge curved sofa where you can sit, relax and just admire the view. The Suite starts at $2195 per night. If you want a Premier Central Park Suite the rate starts at $2595 per night. The Two Bedroom Central Park West Suite starts at $3995. The Taipan, The Oriental and the Presidential Suite do not publish their rates (as the saying goes, if you have to ask, you can't afford it!).

There are some very tempting dining choices in the Mandarin Oriental. The Lobby Lounge has a fantastic view of the New York skyline. It's the ideal place to relax with a drink after a long day of sightseeing. Asiate restaurant is the place to go if you want to enjoy fine dining in a beautiful setting with a view. MObar is a more traditional bar setting serving cocktails and bar food.

The Lowell

The Lowell is a small hotel with just 74 rooms and suites located on the Upper East Side of New York. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with exceptional, personalized service, The Lowell is a place to consider.

The lowest priced room is the Deluxe Guestroom which starts at $600 per night - this provides you with approximately 400 square feet of space. Choose a king or two twin beds. A marble bathroom and a full service kitchen add to the impressive amenities.

The Lowell rooms are the same size as the Deluxe and have recently been remodeled. The soaking tub is very inviting, and they also have a separate shower. The kitchenette is a very useful feature.

Junior Suites offer up to 600 square feet of space and have a king bed. Prices start at $950 per room per night. The Deluxe Junior Suites have the same square footage but are even more luxuriously appointed.

The One Bedroom Suites are exceptionally beautiful, and have a fireplace as well as a living room. They have 800 square feet of space, so there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the luxurious surroundings. There are also four Specialty Suites available which are individually themed. You can choose from The Hollywood, Lowell Suites, The Garden Suite, and The Manhattan. For the ultimate in luxury there is The Penthouse Suite which is located on the 17th floor.

The Lowell is located right in the heart of New York City, so there are many exciting places for you to dine. If you want to stay in the hotel, you can eat in the Pembroke Room. This high-end dining room is well-known for it's afternoon tea and pre-theatre dinner options.

Unfortunately, there isn't a swimming pool at The Lowell, but there is a fitness center so won't miss your daily workout.

The St. Regis New York

The St. Regis New York has a prime location on Fifth Avenue. If you want to stay in luxurious surroundings in the heart of New York City, this beautiful hotel is an excellent choice. The St. Regis has a long history in New York; opening in 1904 it's played a significant role in the city ever since. After a complete renovation in 2014, The St. Regis New York is now as glamorous and luxurious as it was in its heyday.

The St. Regis has 171 rooms and 67 suites. The Superior Guest Room offers 430 square feet of space. This is very generous in a city that is not known for providing large hotel rooms. Each room has a king-sized bed and is decorated in shades of white with striped silk wallpaper. The bathrooms are high-end, with marble counters and floors, a rain shower and generously sized tubs. Rates start at around $645 per night.

The Deluxe Guest Room is slightly larger at 450 square feet. The options are a king-sized bed or two doubles.The Grand Luxe Room has 490 square feet of space and offers a king-sized bed.

There are 67 suites available ranging from the 600 square foot Astor Suite, to the 3430 square foot Presidential Suite.

The St. Regis has a health club for the exclusive use of it's guests.

As you would expect, there are some nice restaurants on site. The Astor Court offers elegant dining in a welcoming setting. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the chefs place an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

The historic King Cole Bar & Salon is an excellent place to unwind after a day touring the city. If you want to experience something very special you can reserve Table 55 in the King Cole Bar. The price is $2500 a night, but it gives you access to the chef's custom menu and exclusive wine list. If the price is a little too high, you can have afternoon tea for $55 per person, or $70 if you would like champagne. This very special tea is served daily from 3 pm until 5 pm.
