Scion

Scion is a neighborhood restaurant that has been serving contemporary American cuisine for quite some time now. Well-known for its passion and love for craft beers, Scion is not only a great place to knock back a few beers, but also to have excellent meals!

Scion offers a mean brunch menu, along with a wide array of beers and cocktails that go great with the brunch food. Cocktail lovers rejoice! Come for brunch and avail of the Bottomless Brunch for $14, where you get to drink all the Mimosas, Poinsettias and Bloody Marys you could possibly want!

For you starters, I highly recommend the Potato Nachos, which are filled with oodles of bacon, cheese, tomatoes and fried jalapenos! For heartier fare, I suggest you pick the fabulous Crab Cakes Benedict or the Huevos Rancheros, which are a lovely way to perk up your morning. If you are looking for sandwiches, go for either the Scion Burger or the Lobster Reuben. If you want to start your day with something sweet, they make a luscious Cinnamon Vanilla French Toast.

Be sure to take a look at their cocktail menu for lunch and the full listings for their craft beers. All of the dishes here are made fresh every day, and Scion only uses the best, top-quality ingredients there are, which is why Scion is one of the best places in Georgetown to have brunch.

Howard Theatre Gospel Brunch

Source: http://www.hercampus.com/

The Howard Theatre is one of the more unique Georgetown brunch places where you can get a good Sunday brunch. Having brunch here isn’t a regular brunch experience—it is a concert! The building itself is a historic building, officially added to the National Register of Historic Places. While you’re enjoying a “Home-style Southern buffet,” the famous Harlem Gospel Choir will be entertaining you by singing their hearts out in front on the stage.

I suggest you get a ticket at least one day ahead so that you can save $10. A ticket on the day itself will set you back $45. While the choir is singing beautiful, soulful music, you can hit the buffet created by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson for Southern goodies like Beef Chili, Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Cornbread and Fried Green Tomatoes. Here at the Howard Theatre, let the soulful voices of the choir make your soul happy, and the many soul food dishes make your tummy happy. You’ll be dancing to the music soon with the foot-stomping, hand-clapping tunes.

When in Washington, be sure to set one Sunday aside and have gospel brunch at the Howard Theater in Georgetown.

If you are craving for Italian dishes that are from the region of Emilia Romagna, then look no further! Osteria Morini is the place for you!

First opened in Manhattan's SoHo district, Osteria Morini uses only the best local and imported produce, importing some of their ingredients straight from Italy for that authentic taste. Considered one of the best Italian restaurants in Georgetown, and one of the best brunch places, Osteria Morini serves excellent pastas and paninos.

Bestsellers include the perfectly cooked, creamy ricotta pancakes, steak and eggs, porchetta panino, fritatas, and they also make great pastries which are baked fresh daily. A year-round outdoor area is a great setting for you and your friends or family to enjoy a great day with great dishes that are simply awesome. Do not forget to try the charcuterie board for cured meats and cheeses like prosciutto, mortadella, parmigiano regiano and a really good balsamic vinegar that Emilia Romagna is famous for.

Birch & Barley

Source: http://www.timeout.com

Birch & Barley is known for their massive collection of beers—there are approximately around 555 different kinds of beers to choose from— and great dishes that are vibrant and spontaneous. Chef Kyle Bailey's creations are just sublime, with a menu that is market-driven, based on whatever Chef Kyle can find in the market. Cooking is done in a simple manner, yet the flavors of the dishes are just amazing.

The brunch menu on Birch & Barley is something that you will surely love and, trust me, you will want to try everything. Birch & Barley best sellers are the House-Brined Corned Beef Hash, the Brat Burger, the Ricotta Cavatelli pasta, Winter Quiche, Fried Chicken and Waffles and the Fig and Prosciutto Flatbread.

For something sweet, do try the Nutella Cream Cheese Pop Tart and the Caramel Pumpkin Bread. Don’t forget to try the boozy brunch cocktails—the Mimosas and the Bring Back Summer Punch.

Kapnos

Kapnos is a Greek restaurant that serves authentic and traditional dishes since July 2013. Chef Mike Isabella has made his travels as inspirations to make his delicious dishes. The restaurant features two wood fire grills with rotating spits, and a large oven for stone-baked flat breads.

The Kapnos can accommodate around 160 persons and guests can enjoy beautifully roasted or grilled whole animals like a suckling pig, chickens, ducks, goat and lamb. The restaurant is open seven nights a week, and it serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Kapnos has made it to the list of best Georgetown brunch places for its satisfying and delicious brunch menu. Here are some of the best sellers of Kapnos: stone oven baked eggs, spit chicken and waffles, baklava French toast, spanakopita, and if you want something to just nibble on, go for their flatbreads and spreads. Kapnos also serves sandwiches and pies—I highly suggest that you try the lamb gyro, the spit-roasted turkey pressed toast, and the roasted duck phyllo pie.

What’s a great brunch without a cocktail? Kapnos makes delicious mimosas and Bloody Marys. When it comes to the Georgetown brunch scene, Kapnos is simply one of the best.

No one else in the world does brunch better than the French! Luckily, there’s an authentic French cafe in Georgetown and they serve brunch! Here at L’Enfant Café and Bar, they make things simple, but really, really good.

L’Enfant is a great Georgetown brunch place because of their cocktails: you should have a Kir Royal or their signature drink, the Grand Mimosa. They also have great steak and eggs, and one must not forget to try the crispy, porky goodness the Crispy Prosciutto Flatbread. End your meal with a yummy yogurt parfait.
