The only downside to this place is that it is very popular. Expect a wait most days of the week. The secret is definitely out about how great the food is. There isn't very much room inside and the tables are rather close together, but the atmosphere is friendly and the service is excellent. The food is made on site and from scratch.
So what can you expect on the menu at Bru’s Wiffle A Waffle Joint? A favorite is the Chocolate Waffle Party for $13.50. You definitely have to love chocolate to enjoy this one! It is a chocolate Belgian Waffle stuffed with butter cream and topped with Oreo cookies, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream.
For something very different you may want to try the Waco Waffle Taco for $12.50. This is certainly an unusual combination with a waffle taco filled with chicken, lettuce, pico de gallo, cheddar, mozzarella, jalapenos, sour cream, and salsa. Definitely bringing a taste of Mexico to the waffle!

The cafe space is welcoming and friendly. There always seems to be a line, but that is the price you have to pay for dining at a very popular place in Santa Monica! The prices are reasonable when you take into account the location and the quality of the food.
The owners Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan were born and raised in Santa Monica. They both had excellent training in illustrious restaurants, but returned to Santa Monica to open Huckleberry Cafe in 2009. The philosophy is that great food is created when it is made from organic ingredients and created from scratch on site. Their menu changes according to the season. The quality of the food is exceptional and you really should give it a try if you are visiting Santa Monica.
On weekdays Huckleberry Cafe serves breakfast from 8 am. until 11 am. If you are here on the weekend you have even longer to enjoy a brunch as the breakfast items are served until 5 pm. on Saturday and Sunday.
The breakfast menu is not huge, but you are sure to find something that you would enjoy. The classic Green Eggs and Ham is priced at $12.75 and includes prosciutto di parma, pesto and arugula greens all served on a home made English muffin.
Choices also include a very tempting Fried Egg Sandwich for $11.50. This is eggs served sunny side up with bacon, gruyère cheese, arugula greens and aioli all served on delicious country bread.
It seems that everywhere in the Los Angeles area you have to have at least one dish that includes quinoa and The Huckleberry is no exception. This high protein grain is available for $12.50 and includes Quinoa with Farmers’ Market vegetables, and you can have even more of a protein fix with the two sunny side up organic eggs.

Huckleberry Bakery & Cafe is located in Santa Monica, California. Everything served at Huckleberry is made on site using the best quality ingredients, including organic flour, Vahlrona chocolate and farmerâs market produce. The menu changes regularly with the seasons and on the bakerâs whims.
If you are looking for a brunch with a view in Santa Monica, The Penthouse has to be at the very top of your list. Located right at the very top of The Huntley Hotel this restaurant serves great food, with a breathtaking view of Santa Monica Beach.
The menu is not huge, but the quality is high, and you are sure to find one of your favorites to eat for brunch. The house made Cinnamon Rolls are delicious and priced at $12. They are something you really should consider sharing with your table companions!
Another great choice to share is the Basket of Fresh Baked Pastries. You have a choice of a Basket for three, five or seven people These are priced at $8, $15 or $20. These pastries include Blueberry Muffin, Cinnamon Sugar, Coffee Cake,Croissants, and delicious Beignets.
The Crab Cakes are excellent and priced at $15. If you enjoy a seafood based brunch the Smoked Salmon is also a great choice for $12.
The Penthouse serves delicious waffles. The classic waffle is served with strawberries, whipped cream, butter and syrup for $15. The Banana Foster French Toast is also very tempting for $15. The french toast is made of brioche and is topped with Caramel Orange Sauce, Dark Rum, and sprinkled with Brown Sugar.
The Eggs Benedict are also a specialty. It is pricey, at $17 but worth it for the two poached eggs, Canadian Bacon and delicious hollandaise sauce. If you want something a little more healthy the Spa Omelet may be a good choice for $15. With spinach, eggs whites, mushrooms and tomatoes, it is a guilt free indulgence.
