Soak up some sun at the beach, go jogging at the pier, shop at Farmer's Market, or chill and have some wine and cheese at one of their best wine bars.

The list of activities you can do in San Clemente are endless. You can soak up some sun and go sun bathing at one of their many beaches, go surfing in the ocean, eat at some of their most well-known restaurants, and go shopping at the Farmer’s Market. Whatever it is you’re into, whether you’re up for an adventure at the beach or you’d like to chill at a wine bar, there’s something here for you to enjoy. Read on to find out the unique things you can do while in San Clemente.

1. San Clemente Beach Trail

What it lacks in length, it makes up for in beauty. It’s a little less than three miles long and is found between Avenida Califia and San Clemente Metrolink Station. A great way to start your day is to go jogging, running, or biking on this dirt trail. You can also find many people walking their dogs here. Other activities that are popular are surfing and camping. The San Clemente Beach Trail provides you an awesome view of the beach and ocean. It’s also extremely clean. You won’t see a piece of garbage in the area. To maximize your walk, it’s best to start from the North Beach then make your way past the pier, then walk further to the parking lot, and then go back to North Beach. It’s a great way to enjoy the ocean breeze and get some exercise. It’s also not too crowded. There are always plenty of people during the morning and afternoon but not too much that you’ll bump into each other. The view and environment is so relaxing that you’ll want to keep coming back here.

2. Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens

Located on the cliffs of San Clemente with a view of the San Clemente pier is the Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens. It’s a very popular venue for weddings but you don’t need to get hitched in order to be able to go here. For only $5, you can tour the entire house and appreciate all the things it has to offer. It has a Spanish-style architecture with the mosaic tiles and plenty of colorful decorations. There are also many historical artifacts, pictures, memorabilia, and selected collectibles that give you a look into the culture of the city’s history. When you get to the patio, you’re treated to a splendid view of the ocean, beach, and San Clemente Pier. There are also plenty of plants and flowers that surround the area. The house gives off a very cozy and homey ambiance even though it may look huge and a little intimidating at first. There are also plenty of picture-taking spots so make sure to bring your cameras. Take some photos by the patio and the ocean, study the items on display, or spend a few hours chilling at the reading room. It’s a very beautiful and breathtaking place and it is a must-see during your stay in San Clemente.

3. San Clemente Certified Farmer’s Market

This is hands down one of the best farmer’s markets in the city. There is a wide selection of fruits and vegetables to choose from. I highly recommend trying out the pesto. There are about 10 different types to pick from. Another great item to purchase would be fresh bread. It’s delicious! The tamales are also tasty. You can buy them frozen and in a pack of three or one piece heated up and served with some salsa. The produce they sell is fresh and has more flavor than the stuff they sell at a normal grocery store. Some of the more fairly priced products are broccoli, red bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, grapes, and strawberries. Every first Sunday of the month, there are non-food stalls and you can buy hand-made stuff like paintings, bath products, and house decorations. It’s a really fun place to visit.

4. San Clemente Wine Company

Prices here are a bit on the expensive side with most of them costing more than $20, however, the servings are plenty with generous pours and the wines taste terrific. Whether you’re into whites, reds, or sparkling wine, there’s something here for everybody. Pair up your drink with a divine cheese plate or some meats. Can’t decide what to order? There’s a tasting area at the back to help you choose. If you have any questions, their employees are very friendly and willing to answer any that you may have to make the perfect choice. San Clemente Wine Company is an excellent place to find some select wines that are not available at your local grocery and liquor store.
