The 5 Freshest Atlanta Seafood Restaurants
Five of the best seafood restaurants in the landlocked city of Atlanta, in no particular order, where you can feast on the freshest catch.
Even though Atlanta’s a landlocked city, they’ve still got the hook up when it comes to fresh, delicious seafood. Due to its proximity to multiple coastlines and a number of talented seafood chefs, Atlanta’s got a number of fabulous seafood restaurants. From freshly-caught fish, oysters to crabs and shrimps, you can satisfy your seafood cravings at one of these fantastic restaurants.
Six Feet Under
Six Feet Under is a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Oakland Cemetery. (Perhaps it should have been named “Six Feet Above”!) It is a cool and hip place where you can grab a basket of your favorite seafood and a cold beer, and just relax. The restaurant is famed for its fresh seafood and fuss-free environment.
Six Feet Under's bestsellers are the Peel N' Eat Shrimps, mussels, the Six Feet Under Steamer—which features “steamed oysters, shrimp, snow crab legs, mussels, sausage, corn on the cob, jalapeño hush puppies and new potatoes”, and their seafood baskets—which are baskets of fried seafood. I warn you, these fried babies are really, really addicting. One must try their Combo Basket, where you can choose 3 options from calamari, jalapeños, oysters, shrimps, or cod. Or try the Fish & Chips basket. Anything you order here is fresh off the fishing boat and delicious.

Atlanta Fish Market Restaurant
The Atlanta Fish Market Restaurant is the gateway to Southern gourmet cuisine. This seafood restaurant makes sure that their fish and seafood are of the freshest quality. Believe me when I say they have a truly impressive selection of seafood—quite a number are flown in fresh around the globe daily.
The menu changes daily based on whatever fresh seafood they have available. The chefs’ creative juices are flowing daily, and it’s a good thing for us customers, as every trip made to this restaurant is surely a new adventure. Mainstay dishes are the cedar plank salmon, and the fillet of salmon trout with pecan crust.
Exuding a warm, friendly atmosphere, Atlanta Fish Market Restaurant is a great place to have a meal.
TIP: First time here? With a huge variety of dishes to choose from, I don’t blame you if you don’t know where to begin. My suggestion is go for the daily grill for the freshest fish. Also, try their oysters, crabs and lobsters. I’ll leave it up to you on which way you want ‘em prepared.

Goin' Coastal is a restaurant that promotes sustainable fishing which, in any case, is an honorable intention. This restaurant makes sure that what they serve is fresh everyday by sourcing locally—or semi-locally, at least, from the nearest coastal towns around Atlanta.
Inspired with Southern-style cooking, Goin’ Coastal is where you can get beloved classics like shrimp scampi, lobster pot pies, shrimp étouffées. I highly recommend the Gulf Shrimp tacos and the hearty Shrimp & Tasso Ham Gumbo.
Goin' Coastal also serves great cocktails by their very cool and very talented bartenders. Do try the fried pickles and the fresh oysters with their cocktails.

C & S Seafood & Oyster Bar
If you are looking for good oysters, head over to C & S Seafood & Oyster Bar. Located in a strip mall, C & S Seafood & Oyster Bar is a time machine that brings you back in time. Once you step inside the restaurant, feel yourself get whisked away to a bygone era. With its dark wood interiors and banquettes, the atmosphere is reminiscent of old French bistros.
Start your meal with their Crispy Calamari (highly recommended!), and their oysters. (It’s all about oysters here, baby!) My favorites would probably be the Oysters Rockefeller and Oysters Tabasco. Their fish dishes are to die for—the Crab and Parmesan Crusted Flounder, the Steamed Sea Bass with sticky rice and bok choy, and the Grilled Swordfish with peppercorn sauce.
TIP: Want a sandwich? Go for their Oysters Po’boy! Trust me, you won’t regret it!
