Romantic Restaurants in San Diego: 3 Recommendations for Couples

If you're looking for a very special dinner for two, here are some of the most romantic restaurants in San Diego.

Sometimes you just want to find a special setting for a romantic meal with a loved one and there are plenty of choices in San Diego. Here are just a few recommendations for restaurants with the perfect setting, atmosphere and exceptional food - quite fitting for that romantic meal.

1. Jake's Del Mar

Jake's Del Mar is a favorite with San Diego locals and is a great place for a romantic dinner date. Set right at the side of the ocean with amazing views, this is a wonderful spot for a romantic meal - particularly at sunset.

The decor at Jake's Del Mar is very definitely California beach town inspired. The views from the windows out on to the ocean are spectacular. The restaurant gets very busy and reservations are recommended.

The menu is relatively small, but all the food is of a very high standard, so you really can't go wrong with any choice you make. Appetizers include Crispy Calamari $11, Grilled Shrimp $14 or Mac and Cheese Stuffed Meatball $11.

Soup and salad is also on the menu, with the Seafood Chowder being a particular favorite priced at $8.

If you love seafood you will be very happy at Jake's Del Mar. The Lobster Tail is excellent and priced at $35. The King Salmon is a good choice for $27. If steak is your favorite then you will enjoy the Surfing Steak for $27. There is also a Beachside Vegetarian with house-made gnocchi for $19 if you want a vegetarian option.

To finish the meal, the KIMO’S Original Hula Pie is highly recommended. It is chocolate cookie crust, macadamia nut ice cream, hot fudge, toasted mac nuts, and whipped cream for $10.

There is a very tempting drinks menu with beer, wine, cocktails and mocktails available.
