Jurassic Park - The Ride
Jurassic Park is one of the not to be missed attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood. Guests board a boat for a scenic ride through the park to enjoy the friendly dinosaurs. But something is about to go wrong - the dangerous dinosaurs have escaped from behind the electric fence and no one knows just what is lurking around the corner.
As you enter the building and the raft starts to climb, you'll realize that something has gone very wrong - just like in the movie, Jurassic Park. Flashing lights are sirens let you know that something is not quite right. As you reach the top of the building, the 50 foot tall T. Rex is waiting for you and your only escape is to plunge down the 84 foot drop!
The Jurassic Park ride is a whole lot of fun for all ages. Be aware that some young children can be quite scared by the dinosaurs, so just use your best judgement. You will most likely get wet on the ride and some riders will get drenched. Some people choose to wear one of the rain covers which are for sale all around the park. The first three rows tend to get wetter than those on the back - and those at the sides get the worst of it!
Jurassic Park has a height requirement of 42″ to ride. Children 42-48″ must be accompanied by someone at least 14 years of age.
The Simpsons Ride
The Simpsons Ride is a fun motion simulator ride. Guests board an eight person vehicle and are seated in front of a huge projector screen. The vehicle takes them on a simulated roller coaster ride through a Krustyland carnival.
The jokes are family friendly and everyone will enjoy seeing their favorite characters Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie from the television show. Although this ride is based on the popular series, guests don't need to be fans to enjoy the ride.
The motion simulator runs multiple vehicles in front of the screen at the same time. Be careful not to look left or right or it spoils the effect as you can see the other vehicles!
The Simpsons Ride has a height requirement of 40". Those 40" to 48" tall must be accompanied by someone aged 14 or over.
Transformers: The Ride 3D
Transformers: The Ride 3D, is another motion simulator ride. It is a totally immersive thrill ride based on the Transformers movies. This ride uses some of the most up to date motion simulator ride technology and is one of the most intense attractions in the park.
The vehicle can make 360 degree turns along the 2,000 foot track. It moves quickly around in front of all the different projection screens giving riders the sense that they are in the middle of the action. It seems as though the Transformers are right in front of you. Hot air, fog and water make the ride even more realistic.
Make sure you don't forget the meet and greet with The Transformers outside the attraction building.
Guests must be at least 40" in height. Those who are between 40" and 48" must be accompanied by someone who is at least 14 years old.
Fast & Furious - Supercharged
Fast & Furious - Supercharged, is a new attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. The ride was opened to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the studio tour and is themed around the very successful movie franchise, Fast & Furious.
The new experience comes at the end of your 45 minute studio tour. Guests are seated in trams and taken around some of the sets, shown behind the scenes props and movie secrets. You may even see the filming of a current production.
Right at the end of your tour, the tram takes a diversion and drives into what looks like an abandoned truck repair shop. The reality is that this building houses one of the most complex thrill rides ever built, with the longest 3D screen in the world.
Guests are surrounded by screens which create the very realistic feeling that they are part of the Fast & Furious action. The tram is on a platform which moves in sequence to the images projected on the screen. The tram is connected to a very sophisticated flight simulator and special effects make it feel as though you're speeding at 125 mph.
